Friday's Weekly Wrap Up 2-14-14

What a week it has been. We watched the Lord provide just as he has promised. His timing is always perfect! Wayne has been working hard. These past few weeks we have had some problems with our white Ford. He has spent many nights after work working on it. Our prayer is to sell it soon.

Drain field has failed and we were told to conserve on water. Laundry is piled up and dishes are only done twice a week. -YIKES- It's paper plates and RED solo cups *grins*

Austen is very busy with school and working. It is exiting to see him grow into a man of  great character. This past 2 weeks he has worked with his Shaun cleaning up a piece of property to get ready to sell.

Blake is in his 3rd week of wrestling and has really enjoyed the sport. I am happy to report that I think he has turned over a new leaf...... his *room* has been SPOTLESS  all week!!! This momma is impressed.

Tuesday I was able to go to Longview and meet with Becky and the kids for lunch. We had a great visit, as always!

Lastly, I am THANKFUL the snow is gone.........

Wow! We made it through our first week.  Austen is a junior this year and Blake is in 4th grade. As their mom and teacher, I am so blessed. We decided to put Blake in his first team sport this year. He is playing for the Pasco Youth Football League. I was a little apprehensive about allowing him to play, but it has been a good experience so far! Austen playing 3 years of youth football and we had no problems with kids or coaches. I am so thankful!

Joy Through The Storms

The past few weeks have been a bit challenging.
I have begun to do some inventory of my life and the things I need to purge out in order for growth to happen. Also in the mist of working on this, there has been some trials that are weighing on me. It just seems more overwhelming then normal. The cloud just did not seem to be moving fast enough away from me.

The verses that have really been a comfort
Psalm 56:3
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
2 Tim 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

There have been many blessing in spite of the trials.
*New Friendships being built (Joy, Teri, Michelea, Tonya)
* Austen is making new friends and is now in a Bible study group on Tuesday evenings.
* Getting involved in my church
* Sweet fellowship with the Lord during my prayer time

The weather has been so beautiful here in Texas. I think today it is suppose to be in the 80's! We are getting ready for our Easter program for April 1st. Blake has a role in the play, so we have been practicing on music and his part that he plays.

Until Later,
Brandie

Waiting for the Lord in a season of darkness should not be a time of inactivity. We should do what we can do. And doing is often God’s appointed remedy for despair.

John Piper

I really like this quote and it sure fits for this season in my life. I feel like nothing is stable these days.
Life seems on hold. We moved here to Texas 5 months ago. I had prayed for months over the decision . My husband was convinced that this was what we were suppose to do. Well, 5 months later we are moving back to Washington. I ask why? Why would God just bring us here for 5 months? We have built new relationship and new starts here in Texas. i love the warmer weather. I seem to do so much better with my Fibromyalgia here.
But I know I need to follow my husband and be supportive of his leading.

It will be interesting to see where God is leading. I am willing as God wills to go. I just pray for his perfect will. If we are in Gods will then the peace will follow.

Grandma and Grandpa will be here to visit for a week and then we will be making the long 4 day trip back home.

Weekend Ramblings...

Summer seems to be going quick! Austen has been in drivers education almost 2 weeks. He should be able to get his permit next week! I finally have some quiet time to blog a bit. The boys went with Wayne riding. It has been very warm here, but I sure enjoy sitting under the patio cover out back with the misters running. I got a surprise this am from a neighbor...a dozen roses...so pretty! It is good to live in a neighborhood where you feel safe and people are friendly.

We are looking forward to having family visit the next couple months. My SIL, MIL, niece and nephew are coming in August. Then my grandparents are coming September 5th for a week! The kids are so exited.

Last week I learned so much in the class. We talked about parenting and how our children really need us to encourage them. The gal who runs the class is super sweet and loves the Lord...I have been gleaning so much from her talks. My walk has been a bit shaky lately . I think just getting settled in a new church and not having the Christian friendships and accountability has weighed on me. The verse that keeps ringing in my ears is "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly" (Prov 18:24). The neat thing that has happened here is that we have really come together as a family! The time together has been so good!

There have been some relationships here I have really questioned, it is so hard to know how other people feel and at times I drive myself crazy worrying about it. People back home knew me and here it is starting all over. Fear can cause so much frustration and other emotions. Aww well learning and growing!

Smells like my brownies are almost done. I will be wrapping them up and we will send out a few dishes tomorrow to the neighbors.

Blessings,

Home Happenings 5-22-11

Good Afternoon!

Everything is unpacked and we are settled in our new home. It still doesn't feel like home, but I know with time it will. Finding a church home has been a bit challenging. We have been plugging along with school and will hopefully finish by the end of June. Austen had the privilege of going to work with dad on Saturday...he really enjoyed it! I think it is so important to teach our kids a good work ethic when they are young. We personally make it a part of homeschool so that our kids learn skills of being out in the community.

We have faced some trying times in this season of our life...but have felt the peace of God. Moving away from a place we lived all of our lives was one of the hardest things I have done!

Wayne is the best provider and is working hard in his new job here in Texas. The biggest blessing is for him to work alongside of a godly man who loves the Lord!! The Bragg family has been such a encouragement to us! Austen is exited about getting his permit and learning to drive, (not so sure I am... lol). Blake has made some new friends in the neighborhood and is adjusting very well here.

Ok..I know ya' ll have been wondering about this Texas weather... and how we are adjusting to it. Well, it has been fairly mild thus far but this is storm season and we are under a Tornado watch this evening. The night we got here, we had a hail storm...that was interesting!! I think it was fine until I had to drive to the into Dallas in it! I was so scared! I will say though the heat beats the rain back home. Ya, the heat is hot and at times uncomfortable but sunshine is so much better then a dreary day back home.

Well, I suppose...I need to go finish the cake I am making to take to the Braggs for dinner.

Have a GREAT weekend!

Home In Texas

We made it safely to Texas. It was quite the journey but the Lord blessed our trip! We have been here for 2 weeks now. There is plenty to get done, and not a whole lot of time to be on the computer. I hope to share some things soon ;)

Blessings,
Brandie

Short and SWEET!

I have been very busy with home life. As some of you may know,
we will be making our BIG move to Texas next month.
While I am very exited about our new adventure...I am also struggling
to leave those I love. We have never been away from our family, so this will
be difficult for us. I know God has great things planned for us in Texas.
Wayne will be working alongside of a man that LOVES the Lord!
In the next several weeks we will be preparing and tying up lose ends here.
I know Wayne is leaving a wonderful position at Rostchy Inc. He is forever grateful
for the company and how good they have been to us as a family.

Love To You All
Until Later....

Back To School 2010-2011

I can not believe that it is that time already! Summer went so fast. We had some great family time this summer, camping , motorcycle riding, and the Great Wolf Lodge trip.
It sure didn't seem like the weather got warm until the end, but I am thankful we had some days w/out rain ;)
Austen is in High School now and Blake is
in 2nd grade. We had some fun coming up with our school name this summer...
and it's official.....as you see above it is RIVERVIEW ACADEMY ;)
Driving school this year for Austen...eeek he turns 15 in November.
Well, it is off to bed. I am looking forward to getting back to blogging
more this fall. Hope to be able to visit some blogs as well.
I do more now on facbook then blogging, catch me there as well at

Winding Down..........2009/10 School Year

Winding Down...Reflecting

We are almost finished with our 2009-10 homeschool year. Yae!

As many of you know there have been some rough times this past school year,

but we persevered!! The Lord has taught us so much. This world we live is is totally against what we stand for and believe,

(Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker? Job 4:17)

but we know that we don't serve the world we serve a mighty God. He has given us a PERFECT instruction manual to go by!

The statutes of the LORD [are] right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD [is] pure, enlightening the eyes.

Many times I have doughted my homeschool capabilities, but then when I look at Gods Word...I am assured that I have made the right descision. When I see my children be kind to others, help the elderly, teach the younger, work hard, and be respectful to their elders...I look up and thank God! It is not by us as parents, but the mercy and grace of God!

We strive to teach our children the truth (The truth will set us free!)

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

Blessings,

Brandie
