Proverbs 20:7
The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.

What to Leave Children

Spurgeon - Faith's Checkbook

ANXIETY about our family is natural, but we shall be wise if we turn it into care about our own character. If we walk before the Lord in integrity, we shall do more to bless our descendants than if we bequeathed them large estates. A father’s holy life is a rich legacy for his sons.
The upright man leaves his heirs his example, and this in itself will be a mine of true wealth. How many me may trace their success in life to the example of their parents!
He leaves them also his repute. Men think all the better of us as the sons of a man who could be trusted, the successors of a tradesman of excellent repute. Oh, that all young men were anxious to keep up the family name!
Above all, he leaves his children his prayers and the blessing of a prayer-hearing God, and these make our offspring to be favored among the sons of men. God will save them even after we are dead. Oh, that they might be saved at once!
Our integrity may be God’s means of saving our sons and daughters. If they see the truth of our religion proved by our lives, it may be that they will believe in Jesus for themselves. Lord, fulfill this word to my household!

Taking Out the Trash

Who wants to live with yesterday’s rubble?  Who wants to hoard the trash of the past?  You don’t, do you?  Or do you?

I’m not talking about the trash in your house, but in your heart.  Not the junk of papers and boxes but the remnants of anger and hurt.  Do you rat-pack your pain?  Amass offenses?  Record slights?

A tour of your heart might be telling.  A pile of rejections.  Accumulated insults.  No one can blame you.  They’re innocence takers, promise breakers, and wound makers.  They’re everywhere and you’ve had your share.

Jesus answered Peter’s question in Matthew 18:21 and 22 when he asked:  “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me?  Seven times?”  “No, not seven times,” Jesus said.  “Seventy times seven!”

Do you want to give every day a chance?  Jesus says to get rid of the trash.  Give the grace you’ve been given!

Controlling Our Thoughts

A healthy thought and toxic thought can both be built with mental rehearsal . But we can literally tear toxic strongholds down by choosing to bring the thought into conscious awareness for analysis, and then changing it through repentance and forgiveness (causing protein synthesis) and replacing it with the correct information, using Philippians 4:8.
~Who Switched Off My Brain?~
Dr. Caroline Leaf

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

Toxic thoughts are thoughts that trigger negative and anxious emotions, which produce biochemicals that cause the body stress. They are stored in your mind, as well as in the cells in your body.

Every single thought- whether it is positive or negative -goes through the same cycle when it forms. Thoughts are basically electrical impulses, chemicals and neurons. They look like tree branches. As the thoughts grow and become permanent, more branches grow and the connections become stronger.

About a year ago, I was introduced to the book 'Who Switched Off MY Brain' By Caroline Leaf. It is a book that had a huge impact on my life! Years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Like many conditions people have, toxic thinking can and WILL effect your health. I use to get angry when I went to the doctor and they would ask me if I had any stress going on in my life. After having FMS for a while I began to see a pattern. Fibro flares usually take place after a stressful time or over activity. I want to share with you some things that have made such a difference in controlling FMS. When time allows I will share what I am learning through controlling my thoughts. Until next time...
Blessings,

Verse.....Thought ....Quote

Verse For Today......

1 Chronicles 28:20
And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do [it]: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, [even] my God, [will be] with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

Thought For The Day.......

Unlike God, people will disappoint you. They will let you down. They don't know how you feel sometimes or what's going through your head. They don't always know the right thing to say, or when to say the right thing. But if you have God, that's okay. Let people be people, there are things God can do that they can't. Humans aren't perfect, not even Christians. That's why God is so awesome. Because He is!

Written by Yuliya Kononova, age 17

Quote for the day....

The average person in the world today, without faith and without God and without hope, is engaged in a desperate personal search throughout his lifetime. He does not really know where he has been. He does not really know what he is doing here and now. He does not know where he is going. The sad commentary is that he is doing it all on borrowed time and borrowed money and borrowed strength; and he already knows that in the end he will surely die! Man, made more like God than any other creature, has become less like God than any other creature. Created to reflect the glory of God, he has retreated sullenly into his cave; reflecting only his own sinfulness. Certainly it is a tragedy above all tragedies in this world that man, made with a soul to worship and praise and sing to God's glory, now sulks silently in his cave.

Winding Down..........2009/10 School Year

Winding Down...Reflecting

We are almost finished with our 2009-10 homeschool year. Yae!

As many of you know there have been some rough times this past school year,

but we persevered!! The Lord has taught us so much. This world we live is is totally against what we stand for and believe,

(Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker? Job 4:17)

but we know that we don't serve the world we serve a mighty God. He has given us a PERFECT instruction manual to go by!

The statutes of the LORD [are] right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD [is] pure, enlightening the eyes.

Many times I have doughted my homeschool capabilities, but then when I look at Gods Word...I am assured that I have made the right descision. When I see my children be kind to others, help the elderly, teach the younger, work hard, and be respectful to their elders...I look up and thank God! It is not by us as parents, but the mercy and grace of God!

We strive to teach our children the truth (The truth will set us free!)

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

Blessings,

Brandie

Thoughts For Today.... On Sin

A Wise And Happy Heart

Being willing to humbly and honestly acknowledge sin and turn from it makes us happy.

A Deceived Heart

Not being willing to acknowledge sin and turn from it.

Psalm 51:7-12

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; [that] the bones [which] thou hast broken may rejoice.
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me [with thy] free spirit.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Rejection
