Happily Married~ Respect

Study 1 Peter3:1; Proverbs 31:23

Mothers and wives do more to discourage the development of leadership qualities in men than any other person or factor.

No man acquires the confidence or ability to lead until he has someone who will cheerfully follow him. In fact, it isn't until a husband knows his wife will follow whether she agrees with him or not that he really does learn to take his leadership seriously. Graciously complying with requests your husband makes that you do not like actually provides the very best opportunities to demonstrate love and cultivate your husband's desire to lead well. A wise wife is careful to view submission from a husband's perspective and not her own.

Do we CHEERFULLY follow, or do we constantly disagree with our husbands? Do we GRACIOUSLY comply?

This gives us something to chew on today, it's a BIG OUCH for me. I was raised in a home where my step mom basically ran our home. It wasn't until I started learning about submission to my husband that my marriage changed (still a work in progress). Ladies we do have the power to CHANGE our marriages. But we must learn how to submit and follow our husbands before we will see change!

God rewards a woman who honors her husband's right to lead, whether her husband deserves the honor or not.

The Proof Is In The Pudding

I take a strong stand in the beliefs I hold about homeschooling. Perhaps after twenty-five years of educating my children at home, I have earned the right to stand on my soap box and state clearly why I know homeschooling works. I know it works because my children have proved it works. They have graduated from college with honors, they know how to socialize, and they are able to function well in the work world and in their community. More importantly, each of them knows the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and the truths of His Word.

Anyone is capable of teaching his children at home if he really wants to. I have found that if you really want to follow the Lord and do what He asks, He will even overcome homeschooling obstacles like being a single parent, financial limitations, or a physical handicap. As God's Word says in Romans 8:31, "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"Are you questioning today whether or not to continue homeschooling? Perhaps you are in your first or second year of schooling and thinking, "Maybe there's something better that I could be doing with my life?" I encourage you to remain faithful in homeschooling. You are making a difference in this world-you're loving your family and teaching them to follow Christ. Your purpose for being a homeschooling parent is treasured by God. The rewards will come, but you must be faithful. Don't give up!

"Therefore, my beloved (homeschoolers), be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Jesus, just getting through this homeschooling day, let alone the year, seems like an enormous task. Please empower me again by the Holy Spirit to stand firm in what You have shown me to do. In Your name I pray, Amen.

I will keep it short and sweet :)

My favorite verse in the Bible is Proverbs 3:5-6
but today as I read through Proverbs 3 , verse 7 stuck out.
The Bible tells us that we are not to be wise in our own eyes. See our
vision in this life is limited. We do not see the whole picture, only God does.
There are days I struggle with letting the Spirit lead me through my day.
The Flesh gets the best of me and I flounder trying to analyze "why".
We need to seek God dear friends. Satan will throw his fiery darts at us.
God has a plan but he sees the whole plan.....not just the small pathway.
May we remember today to 'walk in the spirit' and let God be our guide.

Blessings,
Brandie

Marriage: Ways To Encourage Your Husband To Lead

How To Encourage Your Husband To Better Leaders
*Learn how to disagree or appeal to your husband in a respectful way.
* Allow your husband to make mistakes without making him dread your reaction or correction. Never make him feel inadequate or stupid.
*Develop good communication skills, and see yourself as your husband's helper.
*Be concerned enough to ask if he has a preference and then honor it.
* Express admiration and respect for good character traits.
* Cheerfully follow your husband.
* Realize your need for your husband. Value his opinions and leadership.
*Encourage leadership in other areas of daily life (sports, church, family)
